Whit D. Bertch is the principal and founder of The Bertch Firm, where his practice is dedicated to representing individuals and families who have been harmed due to the negligence and wrongdoing of others. He has exclusively practiced in the field of plaintiff’s personal injury litigation his entire career and has successfully represented hundreds of individuals and families throughout California, obtaining substantial verdicts and settlements on their behalf. Yet, securing justice for his clients is about more than just obtaining money for them. It is providing professional legal representation in a time of crisis, delivering closure and restoring a sense of peace and restitution to the lives of his clients.
Whit is also committed to giving back to the legal and local Orange County communities. He currently serves as the President of the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association (OCTLA), where has served in the organization’s leadership since 2016. In 2019, he received the organization’s Board Member of the Year award. He has also served on the Board of Directors for the Orange County Trial Lawyers Charities (OCTLC) since 2020. In 2022, he received the organization’s Presidential Merit Award. He has also volunteered many times as a judge for the annual CRF-OC Constitutional Rights Foundation High School Mock Trial Competition.
Whit earned his juris doctorate degree from Chapman University School of Law in 2014, and bachelor’s degrees in Sports Medicine and Economics from Pepperdine University in 2011.
Outside the law, Whit enjoys yoga, running, DEKA racing, Spartan racing, triathlon, chess and international traveling, most recently adventuring in Bali, Costa Rica and Tahiti. He also comes from a family tradition in the law, where he is one of four attorneys and a judge.
